windows Vista and XP questions please but I will answer win 2000 as well. If your system is older then that, then your problem is your operating system is just too old to be using on the internet!
Question I have a window XP, downloaded "opera",having two problems with spybot since then:-
1. It will not immunize unprotected items in opera.
2. Every time i open my e-mail on yahoo mail, before opening any e-mail, I get the message from spybot:-
"spybot -S&D IE helper has detected an URL that is known as malicious source (accept/ deny??), underneath it says HTTP://ad.yieldmanager.com
URL/st?ad-type=ifran
Identified as : right media.
Pls. let me know how to fix it.
Thanks

Answer Hello,
The problem is within the latest spybot search and destroy and the typical installation which will also include the 'tea timer' which you DO NOT want to use. This is a resident monitor, (which slows your computer down) as well, it is plain annoying, having to answer those types of questions when they really are pointless. What I suggest you do, if you haven't already visited my website is do so and read the TIPS page on OPTIMIZING your computer. This can be found at http://tpsconsulting.com and then go to the SOFTWARE/SUPPORT page where you should install all the programs from the PINK section. Since you already have spybot, you will find this as well as many others, one of which is CCLEANER which you can now use the TOOLS within this program, go in to the START UP and disable the tea timer as well as other such items that you do not want running on start up. For now, you can also RIGHT CLICK on the spybot resident monitor on the system tray and end that task.
As I mention in my optimizing tip. The fact that we use these anti-spyware programs to elminate the bad bugs is one thing, but we don't need to have them running in the background all the time, as this only slows the computer down and this is exactly what we are trying to elminate... slow computers!
