Windows XP - Word document deletion

Question
QUESTION: Suddenly a document was placed in microsoft Word - without my doing so!
It is a document(photos mostly) that I want to delete - completely remove from my computer.
How do I do that?

QUESTION: Thanks for your quick response!
The document was suddenly on my screen and was immediately put in the list of Word documents on my initial Word window, joining the list of other documents that were already there!
So it joined several doctor's notes and letters that I had written.
Basically, I am asking: "How does one totally delete a Word document from the right-hand list of previously-written documents.

Im sorry to say that i still did not understand your situation here
im totally confused , i do not know what are you exactly talking about.
so this document that you are talking about is in a folder with the other documents ?
have tried right clicking on it choosing "delete"?
