Question
Recently my Windows XP Pro got corrupted and I decided to re-install it on another drive. The problem that I have now is that I had important email files stored through Microsoft Outlook that I cannot find now to import into the new Windows. Similarly I can't find the latest addreses from the old Adress Book as well as the  Favorites (bookmarks in Netscape).

Can you help?

Thanks,
Tibby

Answer
Hello Tibby how are you doing,

First of all , a new xp installation on another drive means that you need to install Microsoft office outlook so you can import the old email folders and addresses , the same goes for netscape navigator

now to get back your outlook old emails and addresses you need to search for PST file on the corrupted xp installation drive , look it up and copy them to a safe location , then follow these instruction written under "How to import .pst file data into Outlook" at the following website to import your outlook email folders and address

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070

now for Netscape
open that location on the old xp drive
X:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\....\bookmarks.htm
copy that file into a safe location and then follow the instructions on how to import bookmarks on Netscape

if you need more help feel free to contact me back

take care and good luck
