AboutJeffrey Bradley Expertise I can answer questions about Windows XP and 2000 that include installation, setup, how to do certain things with those operating systems (Some examples are un-installing drivers, creating limited accounts, etc.), I can also answer questions about securing wireless networks and most wireless router configuration questions as well. What I can not answer (at least not at this time), is how to write scripts in Vb Script or Windows Scripting Host format.
NOTE: As of 3/29/2008, I have now finished college for my AS degree in Internet Technology! I am now a graduate of Keiser University and in case your courious, I ended up with a 3.6 GPA which means that I will be graduating with honors when I walk in May. (Cum Laude).
It also means that responses should be a lot faster, too. :-)
Thank you.
Experience I have been with Windows since it first came out and involved with computers before Windows even came out (I had the commodore Vic 20). Here is a trivia question: What was AOL's original names from startup? A. Quantum Link for the Commodore computer systems, Pc-Link (DOS) and AOL (Windows). I have installed and configured several networks, wired and wireless, I also run Christian Computer Services (http://www.christiancomputerservices.info) where I do on-site local area service/tech-support calls and I also educate users in computer and family security.

Question Hi, I have a compaq pressario c504ea laptop, with vista home preinstalled, as i dont like Vista i want to install windows XP, when i have put the cd at bootup before installing but before it starts Installing it says(blue screen) "setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on computer. make sure hard drives are powered on properly connected on computer, or related hardware configuration is correct. this may involve manufacturer supplied diagnostic or setup programs" can you please advise how i format vista and install Windows Xp Thanks
Answer Hi Rashid,
This problem is usually caused by the computer manufacture using a special utility the writes the OS partition and the recovery partition to the hard drive during automated production.
You would need to use a third party partition manager to carefully delete the OS partition (I would keep the 4GB recovery partition in case you want to re-install Vista), if the recovery partition is deleted, the manufacture can charge a hefty fee to send a recovery CD out.
Because of the special image writing done by the factory, Windows partition manager and FDISK can't understand the partitions.
