windows Vista and XP questions please but I will answer win 2000 as well. If your system is older then that, then your problem is your operating system is just too old to be using on the internet!

Question my windows xp wont connect to the internet, the modem and router are both working but my wireless wont work, this problem started 2 days ago after hydro one people came to the house to sort out the electricity. all the wireless computers at the house wont work but ethernet connections are fine
Answer Hello,
Since you say all the wireless computers in the house are not working, the I would suggest that your router is in fact NOT working as you say it is. Since the router distributes and wireless signal, if NO computer can connect then the problems are more likely within the router. I suggest performing a RESET of the router to the factory condition and then go through the setup wizard of the router once again. Worst case scenario would be to replace the router at least to confirm that it is a wireless issue since after resetting the system if you still have troubles, that is where to look.
You may also want to confirm that all the systems are free and clear from any malware/spyware that can also cause some 'clogging of the tubes' so to speak with regards to internet connectivity. I suggest visiting my website at http://tpsconsulting.com and read the TIPS page on OPTIMIZING your computer. Then go to the SOFTWARE/SUPPORT page where I suggest installing all the programs from the PINK area on all the computers as they will help with the cleaning/removal and ongoing maintenance of the spyware/malware that can cause the problems you are currently having.
