Windows XP - How to calculate the max RAM size and Hard disk size for 32 bit and 64 bit OS?

Expert: Ramon Zammit - 10/31/2009

Question

I would like to know the factors that limits the max size of  RAM and Hard disk and how they are calculated.
Thank you.

Answer
hey bsp

each mainboard has a limited size of RAM and HDD it supports. Also these sizes are limited by the host operating system. its always best to:

keep the mainboard BIOS up to date
perform Windows/Linux updates online

as for the reason why there is this limit you might have a look at this:

pls give rating

regards
Ramon
