I would like to make a disk clone of my master drive so that I can restore it if I need to. I went over to http://www.clonezilla.org/
Since my computer has a CD ROM driver and rewritable DVD drive, I downloaded the Clonezilla live ISO file because on the Downloads page at clonezilla.org it says you need this if you have CD/DVD drives.
I also went into BIOS and found that the boot sequence is in the order of CD ROM drive, diskette drive and hard drive. So that meant that I could use my cd drive to boot the iso file.
So I downloaded clonezilla-live-1.2.2-26.iso from the clonezilla website and copied it to a CD rewritable compact disk. I then placed the compact disk in the CD ROM drive which is the master cd drive.
I then restarted the computer but this clonezilla live program did not boot up !!
I tried and tried to find where I went wrong by reading the website pages but could not find what I was looking for.
Can you help please ?
Thank you.
Answer Trigan,
I have no experience with this software. I suggest removing the Floppy out of the boot sequence. It really isn't used any more.
I do things differently. I save my data to an external drive, you can use CD's or DVD's. Once I have my data, I just rebuild my system if I get hit with a virous or hard drive failure. Your recovery partition exists on your C: drive and it's as easy as hitting a function key at boot up to rebuild. You should create Recovery CD's if you do not have them because if your hard drive dies, your recovery partition is gone. The only way to rebuild after that, is to contact support and ask them to send you CD's
