Question hi. how are you MR. i have a computer hanging problem please help me. I reboot my computer, when xp red bar appeared on start, computer hangs on xp red bar. please help me what i do? thanks
Answer Hello,
I suggest trying to see if you can start the computer in 'safe mode'. To do this, press the power button and just after that, start pressing the F8 key.. press F8 about every second or so until the boot menu appears where you should be able to choose 'safe mode'. If the computer manages to boot to safe mode, this means you have a device driver issue. Typically it is the display driver so at that point I would suggest removing the display driver and try restarting the computer normally. To learn what to do from safe mode and removing of the display driver, please read my tip from my website on this at http://tpsconsulting.com click on the TIPS and read the "problems with display" (http://tpsconsulting.com/tips_display_driverinstall.htm) If this works, once the system has restarted normally, windows should re-detect the device and install it normally. What I would suggest at this point is to first go to the TIPS page again and read the OPTIMIZING tip at which point you should then go to the SOFTWARE/SUPPORT page and install all the programs from the PINK section as this will help with the cleaning/removal and ongoing maintenance from the malware/spyware that may have caused the problems you have had on start up initially. As well, the Everest Diagnostic tool can help to determine which device drivers you may need, as well as provide you with links to the various manufacturers website.
Hope this helps,
Sincerely
Mike Dacre
