Experience used to Windows XP, Network Administration, working in an IT department for over 5 years now, was working before as Hotline Support for Compuserve Germany, worked for Dell and HP in technical support in Germany from 97 to 99. But please dont ask Me things about Server Operating System and Microsoft Office Products. As the freqent questions about Password related topics are rising up, i dont answer any Questions about "How do i logon my system when i forgot my password". Answering this would be against the laws in my country, and excuse me, i dont know you and nobody can prove me that you really want to log on to your pc and not anyone else. Thx in advance.

Question Hi,
My computer reboots quite frequently and I do not know its reason. I would like to be given some pieces of advice to eliminate it. It may be a hardware problem because it is the second time to happen. At first I took my PC to a repairman and he removed the graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 7600, sprayed its slot with contact spray, put back the card and it worked. Is there any possibilities to avoid taking my PC to him and repair it by my hand? Can you help me and e-mail me some advice?
If yes, I would appreciate it.
All the best,
Imre
Answer Hi
what do u understand under "it reboots quite frequently". once in an hour, or every 10 or 15 minutes for example ? how long time it keeps running without reboot after power up ?
in most cases i had machines acting like this it was the power supply which caused this because the voltage power for the mainboard broke down. i think this repair man did not know what was wrong and so he pulled out the graphics card to show some action and inserted it then again.
