AboutTroy M. MCSE, CNA, MCP, CST, IC3, Aplus Expertise Hi there! Even though I am new around here, I have been having great fun with PCs for over two decades now, becoming familiar with Windows through versions 3.x/9x/Me/2000/XP/2003. I enjoy helping others with what I feel is an exciting industry - computers are always changing, improving and offering new opportunities for learning.
I look forward to assisting you with questions concerning Windows, how it interacts with your PC Hardware, configuration/settings or just general tips and ideas.
Besides troubleshooting questions, feel free to ask the basics, as well. I will always start there, and I firmly believe that there is no such thing as a dumb question - we are all ‘Beginners’ at one time or another!
Experience I am an Aplus Certified [the 'plus sign' is unviewable here currently], Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with Computer Service Technician and LAN Administration diplomas and 10 years direct experience with PCs including assembly, troubleshooting/support and upgrading.
I have worked for retail outlets, schools and businesses, and have been an Instructor in the past as well – helping others, just like you, understand and enjoy computers!

Question I read you where you said to use the tweakuninstall to allow a missing drive letter to rematerialize. Does that program have additional capabilities? You can send me somewhere else to read up on it if it would take too much of your time to go thru all of it. Thanks in advance, have a great June! Tina
They are definitely handy, and as you can see from the site, they offer many little tweaks and abilities that you can use to customize or do windows tasks in different ways. The thing is, you do not need to have powertoys to use Windows or do many of the things that the utilities offer.
I used to have it, but do not use it anymore. This may be however, because I know of alternate ways now to do the things that the Powertoys themselves do. This is because of training I suppose, and not just general usage of Windows. So, the little tweaks and changes that you can do with it in Windows (and some of the other utilities such as a magnify feature for the sight-impaired) may be something you are interested in, and are definitely nifty in their own right.
You can do a search for “powertoys reviews” (no quotes) if you want to find out what many other people have thought of the Powertoys Suite, but the best way to find out if you like or will find them useful is to download it, try it for a while, and see if you really do end up using it often. After all, it's free!
