Question
QUESTION: Hi,this is Dixon,My Tools tab from My Computer's toolbar shows funny stuff after my sister used it,it shows Map Network Drive,Disconnect Map Network Drive and Synchronize..

ANSWER: Hello Leong,

If you RIGHT CLICK on the toolbar you should find that you can add/remove (customize) your toolbar. Sounds like there is nothing wrong with your system, only that she has added networking features such as mapping a drive, etc.

I might suggest also visiting my website at http://tpsconsulting.com and read the TIPS page on OPTIMIZING your computer. Then go to the SOFTWARE/SUPPORT page and install all the programs from the PINK section as they will help with the cleaning/maintenance from the malware/spyware that causes so many problems and slowdowns.

Hope this helps,

Sincerely

QUESTION: What I mean is...I can't access to the folder options and stuffs,it only shows the Map Network Drive,Disconnect Map Network Drive and Synchronize. And when I try to open my task manager ,it says "The Task Manager has been disabled by the administrator",I can't set up my folder options, and I can't use my task manager...I think it's about the user setup thing...

Answer
Hello again,

You are obviously going to have to have administrative privileges on your account.  Either log in to an account that has administrative rights and change your existing account to administrative level or do this from the administrators account.  If you click on MY COMPUTER and then on TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS you can choose what options you want available, such as map network drive.

Expertise

I am proficient with all windows platforms. Installation and maintenance of home/business networks and servers. Windows 7, Vista. If you are still using XP then your system is simply too old to be safely surfing the internet and you should upgrade the operating system to Windows 7. If you have windows xp then your question will simply be forwarded to the question pool as I no longer feel it is worthy of my volunteered time, Since Windows 7 can handle systems with as little as 512mb of RAM memory, you have no excuse to not upgrade. If you are having problems and you are using XP there is no point in asking since the problem is with the operating system. Microsoft has stopped supporting this operating system as it is now over 10 years old.. time to upgrade!
