Windows XP - Can't delete zip files

Expert: Saad Shawwa - 7/5/2009

Question
Recently, zip files are not getting deleted when I select and use DELETE button or select and use Right Click to delete. I use Windows Explorer usually to access my file system.

I use ZipGenius for my compression and decompression requirements. When I first faced this proble, I uninstalled ZipGenius and installed SecureZip. I had same problem SecureZip also. Now I am back to ZipGenius but the problem remains.

Answer
Hello Sukhen how are you doing

the files are locked in windows explorer or being used / accessed by another application which could be the zip's program

uninstall your archive handler software and reboot your machine , then try to delete your zip files that couldnt be deleted

to use an easy powerful free goto www.7-zip.org , it really good and does the job

let me know how it goes

take care and good luck.
