It seems that there is also a problem under XP SP3 with some readers compatible with SDHC cards.

My transcend M2 reads perfectly a Sandisk Extreme III 4GB under Windows 7 but not under XP SP3. The reader is recognized, but not the card.

Actually Mike thats not whats going on whatsoever(however you are correct on the reason why his card reader will not read his card) The reason that hotfix will not install is because it is included in the SP3 hotfixes, so is already installed on the system. I know this is a old post, just thought I'd update this if someone else visits.

Cheers,

A concerned Netizen.

Hi Mike,

Actually I believe the problem is with WinXP. I have an USB microSD card reader which works in a Win7 computer but not in WinXP. Probably WinXP need an update to enable it to read exFAT.

Cheers,

Romy

I am proficient with all windows platforms. Installation and maintenance of home/business networks and servers. Windows 7, Vista. If you are still using XP then your system is simply too old to be safely surfing the internet and you should upgrade the operating system to Windows 7. If you have windows xp then your question will simply be forwarded to the question pool as I no longer feel it is worthy of my volunteered time, Since Windows 7 can handle systems with as little as 512mb of RAM memory, you have no excuse to not upgrade. If you are having problems and you are using XP there is no point in asking since the problem is with the operating system. Microsoft has stopped supporting this operating system as it is now over 10 years old.. time to upgrade!
