Windows XP/music to computer

Hi David,
I would like to take a song recording from my DVR and get it onto my computer, then burn it to a CD. I have a Dell computer about  8 yrs. old and it runs Windows XP. Is this possible? Thanks for any advice.

If you are talking about the DVR that the cable company
supply then its not possible. The content that the DVR
records can not extract audio or video because of copy write
infringement. The only way to do this is to feed the content
from the audio or video composite receptacles on the cable box to a stand alone
recorder or your PC if the PC has an audio input and a program
such as sound recorder that can record it (XP comes with this)
and record it while it is being played with the PC on he sight
that the music is coming from. There are other programs that can do this
as well such as Nero sound recorder, Adobe audition, and some others
that can be downloaded free from the Internet. This procedure may require
some rewiring of your PC.If you need more clarification on this you can contact me e mail or phone 718 275 3505.
