Windows XP/How do I uninstall Google Earth?

Hi, I am Doina and I have a problem. I’ve read your previous answers but they don’t match my trouble. I followed your InstallShield rename procedure but to no result.  So, here is my question.

How do I uninstall Google Earth?

I downloaded the program Google Earth on my computer running Windows XP. Now after using it for a while I would like to remove it.  I tried to uninstall it from Control Panel – Add or Remove Programs. Then on Google Earth I clicked Remove. A window appeared reading Please wait while Windows configures Google Earth… When it arrives at Time remaining 11 seconds, I get the message

Error 1402 Could not open key.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I click OK. The loading bar starts unloading….
And then I get the message: Faral error during installation.

How can I remove Google Earth from my computer anyway? It’s very unpleasant to be unable to get rid of a program I consider unnecessary for the time being.
Thanks for your help and precious time.

Hello Doina,

There is definitely some file corruption within the Google folder. It needs to be eradicated by following the steps below;

->Click on Start
->Open Command Prompt
->Then copy and paste the line below into the Command window

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\plugin\ie\\plugin_ax.dll"

->Press Enter
->The process takes a few seconds
->Close the CMD window
->Go back to Control Panel and try to uninstall Google Earth
