Windows XP/Active X controls

Question
Running Win XP home

I tried to establish a blog and got a message to the effect "you must enable active x, etc..."  Another time I entered this web site - http://science.nasa.gov/Realtime/jtrack/3d/JTrack3D.html and nothing happens.  I must have some java function disabled but am too ignorant of this system to know where to start.  I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Answer
Hi Richard,

The webpage you mentioned also has a link to a page with instructions on enabling Javascript, http://www.nasa.gov/home/How_to_enable_Javascript.html

If you wish to enable ActiveX controls and scriptlets:
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Explorer > Security > Custom Levlel
here if you scroll down a bit you'll see ActiveX settings, you should click on Prompt for where it says allow Scriptlets and on Allow where it says Allow ActiveX controls to run.

Manually allowing ActiveX controls can be unsafe on some websites. It is better to Add the site you trust to Trusted Sites list. Websites under this list have less restricted access to your computer.

Cheers,

I will try my best to answer questions on Windows 2000 (x86/x64), Windows XP (x86/x64), Windows Vista (x86/x64). I will probably be able to answer questions involving hardware and device drivers. I've had experience with multi boot environments (2 or more OS on a single pc), recovering from crashes, managing virtual memory. Just drop me a line and chances are I'll be able to help you or direct you to some one who can.
