I backed up my Registry, downloaded RegSeeker and ran defrag. The computer is much faster. Thanks for your assistance!

Try removing the Windows Defender program or using the Windows Defender Toolbar to stop the scan. I believe this program runs an index on your files that eats up you cpu and make your computer run slowly.
