Windows XP/really really slow pc! HELP!

Question
I am using a Windows XP computer. It was built piece by piece (and thus doesn't have a brand, nor a tech support hotline), and has a Pentium 3 533MHz and 128MB of RAM.

The computer started out fine. It ran programs smoothly, and I can load the entire system in a span of 45 seconds to a minute(yeah, I know this is slow by present standards, but I like it that way). Then it eventually stopped working. It won't even turn on! This lasted a couple of days.

Then, when I decided to bring the computer to a technician, I simply got curious to see if it would turn on and it did! However, the computer ran SOOOOO slowly. The start-up time went for minutes on end, and the desktop won't load. The mouse won't even move on certain instances.

Can you please try to help me out on this one? I could just send the computer to the technician, but if the problem turns out to be software-caused, then I might be able to just do it myself.

Answer
Hello Xavier,

I can say one thing is just increase your RAM coz on 128 MB of RAM is not enough to run High end Product so, just increase your RAM upto 256 MB and see the effect and if the same problem is there then come back to me i will help you surely..

Thanks and Regards,
Arjun
