Windows XP/start up menu

Question
It takes a long time for Windows XP to come up on my computer.  On my old computer I could control/alt/delete and the start up menu would appear and I could delete some of the unnecessary start up programs.  How do I do that on Windows XP?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Karen,

Go to Start, Run, type in MSCONFIG, under the Startup tab verify if the programs that are checked are actually required by checking them at one of the following sites:

Hope this helps!
