Wine - chianti melini 1934 and bolla vapolicella classico 1968

Expert: Patrick W Fegan - 1/5/2008

Question
hello...in cleaning out the basement, we found the two unopened bottles of wine and wondered if they have any value.  Hate to throw them away - they are so old!  Thank you...
bolla vapolicella classico 1968 and chianti melini 1934

Answer
I am sorry: but these are ex-wines, esp. the former. You might want to keep them as curiosities (or give them to someone whose birth year they parallel with that proviso). There's always the 1/1000 chance that they may still be drinkable; but if you intend to open them for a special occasion, I'd have a back up bottle ready.
