About David Ling
Expertise I have 40 year`s experience tasting, collecting and enjoying wines as an amateur enthusiast. Bordeaux and Port are my particular loves and I regularly buy and sell at auction. I have a good library and frequently participate in on-line discussions.
I can only help with valuations, buying or selling if you tell me where you live as there are many variations around the world.
Experience I would not feel confident answering questions on German wines or those of the USA, South Africa or Australia. But please check me out on "Browse Past Answers" at the top of this page to see if I'm the one you want to help on everything else! (PLEASE don't forget to tell me where you are if you want my estimation of value or help buying or selling!)
Organizations I am manager of the http://groups.msn.com/BordeauxCentral web site and can promise a warm welcome if you drop by. I also participate regularly on several other discussion groups.

Label: Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Appellation Pauillac controlee.
Second Label: Barton & Guestier, Negociants Au Chateau Du Dehez, Blanquefort-Gironde.
We are wanting to sell this but do not know how much to ask. Would you know?? Thanks Mary Kay
ANSWER: Hi Mary,
Replacement would cost between $250/500, depending where you are but I'm afraid I can only answer this fully if you tell me where you are as values and sales possibilities vary widely around the world.

QUESTION: Hi David, I am in British Columbia Canada
Thanks Mary Kay
Answer Hi Mary Kay,
I can't find any Canadian merchant listing on-line for this so I can't give an accurate figure I'm afraid - but CA$250/300 should be realistic. (I hope!)
I don't know if this large Vancouver merchant ever buys odd bottles from collectors but it might be worth asking them: http://tinyurl.com/5g98mc.
(And even if they don't, they might be able to suggest someone else or put you in contact with a local auction.)
Sorry I can't do more.
Regards.
David
