Subject: Rothschild Wine - Value??
Question Hi Paul
I have a bottle of "Reserve Speciale Pauillac 1995" 150cl. The bottle says "A wine blend specially blended by Lafite in celebration of the bicentenary of N M Rothschild & Sons"
I was given this when I worked for Rothschild Bank in Sydney. It is still in the wooden box and has only ever been stored in the garage with the box sealed (although this has been opened to get the details from the label).
Any idea's on if it's worth anything and where I might be able to sell it (I live in Australia). Many thanks, Juliette
Answer HI Juliette
This is a nice wine, but it was never intended for long term aging. I would guess that your bottle is well past its prime--with a slightly browning color and faded nose, flavors of dried fruits. As such it won't have much value on the auction market, or with wine collectors. I am sorry that I can't give you better news.
