About David Ling
Expertise I have 40 year`s experience tasting, collecting and enjoying wines as an amateur enthusiast. Bordeaux and Port are my particular loves and I regularly buy and sell at auction. I have a good library and frequently participate in on-line discussions.
I can only help with valuations, buying or selling if you tell me where you live as there are many variations around the world.
Experience I would not feel confident answering questions on German wines or those of the USA, South Africa or Australia. But please check my prestige rating and browse "Browse Past Answers" at the top of this page to see if I'm the one you want to help on everything else! (PLEASE don't forget to tell me where you are if you want my estimation of value or help buying or selling!)
Organizations I also participate regularly on several other discussion groups.

Wine - Torres Coronas
Expert: David Ling - 10/31/2009
Question In 1989, I was given a bottle of Torres Coronas 1985 as a wedding gift. "Produced & bottled by Miguel Torres, S.A. - Vilafranca Del Penedes - Spain Bottling date: april 1987. Release date: July 1988" I kept it and it's been through many moves and changes in location. The marriage went down the drain and I wonder if the wine should follow it. Will it still be any good to drink?
Answer Hi Patricia,
This is a reliable low-budget wine intended for drinking on release or within a few years of it so I'm afraid this will have gone downhill too.
(Sorry about the marriage but I don't think you need reminding about the fella by opening it and you won't be throwing money away if you just dump it and move on.)
Regards,
David
