Wine - 1976 vintage Perrier and Jouet Champagne

Question I found a bottle of this in my granfather's basement. What would the value be?
Answer HI Ashlee
I am afraid that even the best Champagnes start to show their age after twenty years or so...and this one is now past that point. While it may still have some charm, and be pleasant to drink, I don't think you'd get many wine connoisseurs to offer up a lot of money for it.
You might be able to sell it for what a current bottling sells for, which is around $120, but I doubt it. And it is illegal for private citizens to sell alcoholic beverages in the USA, so you'd have to work through a retailer or auction house, and pay their commission.
If it were mine, I would simply chill it down and open it on a special occasion. And I would have a backup bottle on hand, just in case this one is completely gone.
SOrry I can't give you better news.
