We found this bottle in our house, and was just curious about the history and value.

Hi Caitlyn,

The description of Valpolicella at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valpolicella may help.

I can add that Bolla is a reputable producer so your bottle would have been a good example of the type in its day. Unfortunately though it isn't a wine intended for long keeping so there is little chance that this bottle will be worth opening; it would be impossible to sell and thus has no value.
