About David Ling
Expertise
I have 40 year`s experience tasting, collecting and enjoying wines as an amateur enthusiast. Bordeaux and Port are my particular loves and I regularly buy and sell at auction. I have a good library and frequently participate in on-line discussions. I can only help with valuations, buying or selling if you tell me where you live as there are many variations around the world.

Experience
I would not feel confident answering questions on German wines or those of the USA, South Africa or Australia. But please check my prestige rating and browse "Browse Past Answers" at the top of this page to see if I'm the one you want to help on everything else! (PLEASE don't forget to tell me where you are if you want my estimation of value or help buying or selling!)

Organizations
I also participate regularly on several other discussion groups.

Wine - Pieroth South African 2009 Cab. Sav.

Expert: David Ling - 11/7/2009

Question
I had the pleasure of receiving a bottle and would like to find out where I could purchase more of this wine. What should I expect to pay for it as well. I live in St. Louis, Mo. 63025
Thank-you for your help!

Answer
Hi Laquitha,

I'm glad you enjoyed this but I'm afraid you'll only be able to buy more - by the case, or possibly as part of a mixed one - from one of Pieroth's party-plan sales agents.

They set their own prices to allow a sales commission on top of the list price, which isn't published. However, you can probably expect to pay about 50% more than if you had asked a reputable St Louis merchant to recommend something similar - which they'd be happy to sell by the single bottle.

You are well-served with good merchants locally but these two are larger than some:
