Wine/Value for old Dom Perignon Champagne

Question
Hi....

I know very little about the items I have but have been told they could be quite valuable. I am looking for your guidance in the best way to dispose of them and what they might be worth.

I have four bottles of Dom Perignon Champagne, all full in like new condition. The dates on the bottles are
1947, 1949, 1949 and 1959, I also have two bottles of Taittinger Champagne, also full and like new, and the dates on them are 1952 and 1955. The bottle from 1955 has some sort of fold open tag still attached to the upper label on the neck of the bottle.

These have all been stored on their sides in a temperature controlled basement since new.

Any assistance with approx. value and the best way to sell them would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Kirk

Answer
Kirk,

As for the Dom Pérignons, if they have been stored at 60 degrees Fahrenheit or lower for the duration they may well be in good shape. The going rate for the 1947 is $1,000, for the 1955 between $650 and $1,400 with the 1949 going for $1,400.

As for the Taittinger, if it's the 1955 Comte de Champagne, it's going for $1,000. I have no quotes for the 1952.
