Hi I have found a bottle of Luxor pure gold 24k Brut and was just wondering what it was worth and were I could sell it     The thing is I no it sounds stupid but it has no liquid in just full of gold flakes If you could help I would very much apreshate it

Hi Adam,

This has a following in some markets where 'bling' is valued - Arab countries and China for example - but is just a curiousity in the UK where most Champagne enthusiasts would prefer a Krug, Winston Churchill or DP.

None-the-less, I think you might have hoped for auction bids into 3 figures GBP for a pristine bottle.

As descibed though it has no value as a wine I'm afraid, and probably very little if you were to extract the gold leaf and sell that as scrap as it will amount to very little when weighed.

I have 40 year`s experience tasting, collecting and enjoying wines as an amateur enthusiast. Bordeaux and Port are my particular loves and I regularly buy and sell at auction. I have a good library and frequently participate in on-line discussions. I can only help with valuations, buying or selling if you tell me where you live as there are many variations around the world.

I would not feel confident answering questions on German wines or those of the USA, South Africa or Australia. But please check my prestige rating and browse "Browse Past Answers" at the top of this page to see if I'm the one you want to help on everything else! (PLEASE don't forget to tell me where you are if you want my estimation of value or help buying or selling!)

I also participate regularly on several other discussion groups.
