Wine/Blind Tastings

I read in "Gulp" about the blind tastings you do in your class at Napa Valley College and I would like to know if the results from them are available?  I have long suspected that most people (myself included, sad to say ... or perhaps not because I can spend less) can't really tell the difference between affordable and expensive wine and the results from your tastings lend great support to that view.  I think it would be interesting & fun to hold one of your tastings for my wine drinking friends.  John

Hi John

Thanks for this question, and the interest in my classes at Napa Valley College.  I track all of the results of these tastings on the chalkboard in front of the class--but I don't keep track of them after that.  So I don't have the hard records to show you.  Sorry.

It is all sorts of fun to do these tastings, with consumers or experts.  And if you are interested in some of the more professional versions of these tastings, do a Google search for professor Brochet and read about his work.  Quite fun.
