Hello,

I have the opportunity to buy a 1928 750ml Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial. http://www.frw.co.uk/

It has 4.5cm ullage and as you can see, the foil/capsule is torn, eroded.

I know this is a gamble, but what do you think are the odds of it being drinkable?

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Chris Moi

Answer
Hi Chris

Even the best Champagnes begin to show their age at 25 years or so....And this one is way past that point.  It will be tired, faded, and most likely low on bubbles.  I wouldn't buy it, because I don't think it woukd give much pleasure.

Sorry I can't be more encouraging
