Trust me. Do not buy it, or any wine, from the St. Amant Winery. I am a US Army Soldier who recently returned from my 4th Combat Deployment. I stopped at the "Triple S Grocery" next to the winery and noticed they were selling it (I was in town on leave visiting family). I asked if they offered a military discount on the wine? The store keeper said he would call and ask the owner of the winery. The owner was quick to say no to the military discount (Generally I do not support business [this winery] who do not support me). I thought it would be nice to have a couple bottles to put up for display at my home as a conversation piece and just to have a piece of home to take with me where ever I go. So, I bought 4 bottles (2 to drink and 2 to put on display). This wine was not cheap either! It was about 45.00 for the 4 bottles. I bought 2 bottles of Strawberry and 2 bottles of Muscadine. I'm not a big wine drinker but thought for sure this wine would be SO good...especially the Strawberry because it says right on the label "Sweet Table Wine". I opened it and tasted a sip and it was the most BITTER, NASTY wine I have ever tasted! Boone's Farm or Box wine taste better than this! Just in case it was my taste buds and not the wine, I let my wife taste it and it gagged her. So take my word for it. I'm afraid to open the Muscadine because the "Sweet" Strawberry was TERRIBLE. I love Muscadine stuff too...especially Jelly (if you can find it). If you don't disregard and bypass the St. Amant Winery & Spirits simply because he doesn't support the military....do it because the wine taste horribly bitter!
Hope this helps, have a great day!
