i want to ask that how the antenna gain pattern can be related to the Direction finding  of the incoming signal

Answer
A directional pattern is needed to DF (direction find) a received signal with just a single antenna.  Sometimes the antenna is rotated mechanically or electrically to find the maximum signal level.  For many antennas the 'nulls' or signal minima are sharper than the maximum signal direction so more accurate DF is obtained by rotating the antenna pattern to one of the narrow minimum gain points.

If one uses multiple antennas there are several means of DF.   Time difference of arrival is one, using the multiple antennas as a phased array to generate directivity  is another.
