Expert: Navita W. Gunter Date: 7/1/2008 Subject: rectal pressure
Question I recently made a trip to the E.R. with excruciating pain in my lower abdomen, diagnosis;constipation. Went home, followed directions, of the stool softeners, and such. My lower abdominal pain is gone, but the rectal pressure, and bit of tenderness is still there. Is this cause for concern, or just the process of healing because of inflammation?
Answer Dear Lola,
Thank you for writing me I will try to help you out if I can now it seems like this rectal pressure is just an aftermath of you having severe constipation. I would keep a watchful eye on it though just in case it worsen or you get other symptoms or the pain comes back.
