Question
Is it true that sex enhances safe delivery in pregnant women? My wife is seven months pregnant and we have not had sex in about three months now. Is this going to be a problem? She had difficulty having the first baby and people say frequent sex towards term is helpful (we didnt have sex towards the delivery). Please advise. Apart from her big tommy and foul odour which rebuffs me and makes sex inconvenient, i seem to have lost my libido entirely recently. Do i have to change?

Answer
Dear Taiwo,

Thank you for writing to me and being concerned about your pregnant wife now you have told me something I have not heard before EXCEPT by old wives tale's. I have NEVER heard a professional doctor speak of such a thing in fact they ask couple's to be careful when having sex when the woman is pregnant. As for your wife's difficulty the first time I do not see it being connected with your sexual activity what is your doctor saying? I would feel better if you would ask your doctor about this and I think it is normal for you to lose your libido as you are worried about hurting your wife and the baby. So let's put this question to your wife's doctor and see what they tell you and God Bless you and your family.
