Hi my name is Deanna I am near 36 yrs old this Dec 04...I just had my first child in May 04 .. My periods have been reg since his birth but for some reason this month i am experiencing mid cycle bleeding.. My lmp was nov 16th and today 11/28 i started spotting red and brown blood and then a light flow of red and brown blood, what could this possibley be?  we have not had intercourse this month so i know im not pregnant, i still need to lose 10 pnds from my baby and been working out the last week for about an hour 4 days a week..I am not taking any birth control so i just have no clue what is going on, can you help me?

Answer
deanna;

about 5% of women will experience spotting-a light staining of blood-regulary with ovulation. the key to this harmless kind of spotting doctors,say is that it happens almost every month near middle of your menstrual cycle. often this spotting is accompanied by mild pain on the right or left side of the abdomen.

however in some women,lack of ovulation,which causes the uterine lining to grow thicker and then shed small areas of tissue at different times,may also be a cause of the spotting;

do to your working out,this could be the cause,due to hormones changes. your doctor will have to diagnose and prescribe treatment for the unexplained spotting.
