Question
I am 47 years old and have not had a regular period in 3 months. I have had all the symptoms but all I get is a dark brown discharge when my period is due. Is this normal menopause.

Answer
debbie;

each women is different when it comes to menopause,so indeed,it could be.
menopausal problems aren't life-threatening and are generally self-limited. if you do nothing about them,they'll generally go away on their own within a few months or a few years. you may want to see a doctor,though,to get relief from hat flashes and other discomforts of menopause,such as vaginal dryness.

menopause does increase your risk of diseases such as osteoporosis and coronary artery disease. therefore,its a good idea to talk with your doctor about steps you can take to reduce your risk of these common diseases.

although ovarian function cant be preserved,signs and symptoms of menopause can often be treated with medication. lifestyle habits also help prevents or control symptoms of menopause.
