Sold, built, serviced, setup Home,Industrial and Commercial stationary woodworking tools for a major tool retailer in CT. for three years, sold hand and power tools, and offered instruction on use and care as well.I even have some Trade show Demo experience.

Mr. Scholl,
This is probably a real simple, basic question...but what's the difference between a planer and a jointer?

Answer
A planer usually refers to a thickness planer where one thicknesses stock with multiple passes through the machine. A jointer is a narrow bed machine used for edge "jointing" boards when gluing up panels, or cleaning up edges and making them square and straight. There is also a handheld "power planer" which is an electric hand plane, typically used for planing doors...hope that helps- regards- Greg
