Question We removed the old poly from the floors but are not restaining. We cleaned them according to directions. We applied the first coat of minwax high build poly on Friday (today is Tuesday) We have some spots that we missed so we were going to sand at 220grit. However, the floor is still gummy in a few spots. I am afraid if I sand it it will ruin what we have done. How much longer should we wait. Did we do something wrong? This is our third experience refinishing a floor and we have never had a problem before.

Answer hi libby
no,it does'nt sound as though you did anything incorrectly.the first thing that comes to me is humidity.if that's the case i'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit more.that would be my guess.only other thing it might be is if the poly was applied too thickly, but, since you've done this twice before that does'nt seem likely.wait it out a few days and you should be good to go
