Question Hello, Greetings! I'm in the process of making my new home. I would like get my kitchen cabinets painted. Cabinet doors are made of Plywood. Question that i have
1. Can plywood be painted? 2. What is the durability/longivity? 3. Any Extra care to be taken while getting this done with a local painter.4. Any good suggestion are Welcome. thanks
Answer Hi Praveen, yes,of course plywood can be painted.....durability of standard Acrylic/Latex paints in a kitchen environment will be good to fair, (I have no idea what products and types of paint you have available there..).....when painting, use the highest quality paints you can afford, with the proper primer. If you can get oil based paints, they will stand up better....a sprayed on colored Urethane or Catalyzed product like what is used here in the States on kitchen cabinets will give you MUCH better durability, and will take much more abuse, moisture, cleaning, etc. Regards- Greg
