Question I have kitchen cupboard doors and kickboards made from European Beech veneer.
I would like to refinish them to a darker colour, together with the brush box flooring.
I think the beech veneer may be coated with polyurethane.
What products and techniques do you recommend, please ?
What advice have you for me ?
Thanks very much !!
Answer Hi Linda, I can't even guess about the typical finish for kitchen cabinets in Australia, but it's possible that it's a catalyzed finish, as we use here. I also can't know what products you would have access to "down under"....to refinish Beech dark is tough to do as it's very hard, and it will require stripping off the old finish completely with a chemical stripper, dye staining, and refinishing..I would suggest inquiring in your area with a cabinet shop or manufacturer, or getting in a Pro restorer to evaluate them with you. Wish I could be a little more help, but we are half a world apart!- regards- Greg
