Woodworking/Paint Mango wood furniture

Hi there,

I am a start-up furniture manufacturer. I wanted to know how can I paint Mango wood furniture?

I know MDF takes paint very well but not sure how does Mango wood look finished with paint. Can I get glossy paint on mango wood furniture?

Any advise?

Hi Sanja

Mango wood isn't a timber used in the UK so I don't have personal experience of any issues associated when doing a paint finish. It shouldn't be a problem, what you need to do is apply a primer coat, then atleast one undercoat then lastly the gloss paint. I don't know what paint manufacturers products you can obtain but  always use a quality paint, prepare as manufacturers instruction and rub down between coats. Hope this helps you.
