Question
melinda has 3pairs of red socks,2 pairs of black socks and 5 pairs of white socks . how many minimum no. of pairs she must remove from the drawer to ensure she has a pair of each color left in the drawer?

Answer
Hello Raman,

Are you sure you mean what is the "minimum" # that can be removed?
Also, I gather she needs to be left with EXACTLY one pair of each
color in the drawer...yes?  If so, then she would need to remove
2 red pairs, 1 black pair, and 4 white pairs...for a total removal of
7 pairs.

Is that what you wanted to know?

Abe
