Question
a student has 100 coins totaling $5.00. The student has no nickels, what coins does the student have? Hint; 60% of the coins are of 1 kind.

Answer
This would mean that 60 of the coins are pennies, so that leaves 40 coins and $4.40.
40 dimes would be $4.00.  For each quarter, he would have 15c more in his coins.
Since 40c is not divisible by 15c evenly, he has no quarters.  If one of the dimes was a half dollar, he would have 40c more, and that would do it.  So the answer is 60 pennies, 39 dimes, and a half dollar.  The total is
$0.60
$3.90
$0.50
----------
$5.00
