Question What common fraction is one third of the way from 1/4 to 1/3?
I know that you subtract 1/3 from 1/4 to find the initial difference. Then you
multiply that 1/12 by 1/3 to break up the distance between 1/3 and 1/4 into
thirds? Then you add that 1/36 to 1/4, but I don't understand why. Can you
please explain it, if you have time?
What integer is one third the distance from between 4 and 16. The distance between them is 12. One third of twelve is 4. 4 + 4 = 8. So 8 is the integer that is one third the distance from 4 toward 16.
