QUESTION: If it takes 5 minutes for a car to travel 2.42 miles how fast would that car be moving?
Second question:
If the same car traveling 2.42 miles changed speeds three times.
How long would it take for the car to travel the 2.42 miles if the first change
1st change 25 mph

2sd Change of speed 40mph

3th change of speed 55mph

"it takes 5 minutes for a car to travel 2.42 miles. How fast would that car be moving?"

Convert miles per 5 minutes to miles per minute:
2.42 miles/5 minutes = (2.42/5) miles/minute = 0.484 mile/minute

Or, you can convert the miles per 5 minutes to miles per hour:
2.42 miles/5 minutes = 2.42 miles/5 minutes × 60 minutes/hour = 29.04 miles/hour
Note that the minute units cancel out, leaving the answer in miles per hour.
:::::
"How long would it take for a car to travel 2.42 miles at 25 mph"
If you want the answer in minutes:
2.42 miles × 1 hour/25 miles × 60 minutes/hour = 5.808 minutes
:::::
"How long would it take for a car to travel 2.42 miles at 40 mph"
2.42 miles × 1 hour/40 miles × 60 minutes/hour = 3.63 minutes
:::::
"How long would it take for a car to travel 2.42 miles at 55 mph"
2.42 miles × 1 hour/55 miles × 60 minutes/hour = 2.64 minutes
