Question
Hello:

Is it correct to indicate 0.005 as follows:

0.005, amount per 1000 units equals 5 or in other words 5 units of 1/1000?

Hi there

0.005 is the same as saying 5 out of a thousand (0.005 is = 5/1000 in fraction form). This could be thought of as 5 units in a thousand units or as 1 unit in a thousand units (1/1000)x 5 (in 5 places)

5 x 1/1000 = 5/1000 = 0.005

If you are required to put down an answer as 0.005 is the same as ___ units per 1000, the answer is 5.

Hope this helps,
