# Word Problems/math problem

Question
jabal and michael are walking to school and agree to leave their homes at the same time. Jabal leaves his home walking 2 meters per second. michael leaves his house walking 2.5 meters pers second. jabals house is 100 meters closer to school than michaels house. after how long are the boys walking together.

Jabal and Michael start out 100 meters apart.
The distance between them decreases by 2.5-2=0.5 meters per second.
100 meters × 1 second/(0.5 meters) = 200 seconds

200 seconds × 1 minute/(60 seconds) = 3⅓ minutes = 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
After 3 minutes and 20 seconds, Jabal has caught up to Michael and they are walking together.
