WordPerfect/wp9 freezing

Question
Been using this particular program for 10 years... now it won't let me 'save' or 'save as'; it just freezes the screen and I have to go to Task Manager to close it down.

Sylvia - there are so many variable unknown .  

What operating system are you using?
have you recently installed new software?
Does this happen for every document or just one?
       If this is regarding a specific document - go to the File manager explorer and make a copy of the document with a new name.

Did your computer recently get updated?
Do you have all the latest updates from Corel.
