Question
QUESTION: I was seriously injured on my job in Oct. of 2007. A few weeks had passed by, I recieved notification of a case manager being assigned to me for assistance. I live in Michigan, Case manager lives/works in Missouri. My Question: Is the assigned case manager supose to meet with me during/while on workman's comp.?

ANSWER: Hi Steven,

Not as far as I am aware, the Case Manager's responsibility is to follow your claim through fruition, but I am not aware of any reason they need to meet with you in person.

Take care,
Margot

QUESTION: IME   Independent Medical Examiner - A Doctor that is picked by the insurance company to evaluate the injured worker.

My question: I live in Michigan, the doctor'(s) are on a medical review board in Texas, How can they decide how my medical conditions are at this time without seeing me in person?

Answer
Perhaps I am not following, but the "Case Manager" is the person who handles the file, this is completely separate from the medical professionals who provide healthcare services such as assessments who will of course need to see the person to evaluate the injury and its progression.

I hope this helps clarify a bit.
