Question Hello
My friend left for a 8 month assignment in Afghanistan 5 weeks ago. I have not received any news thus would like to know how I can get in touch with him. He is a US citizen and he is not on the front rather performing admin tasks.
Thanks for your help.
Answer Florence:
Do you know his military branch and unit? If not, you should be able to get it from his family. In fact, they should have his contact info.
At the very least you need to know what branch of service he is in. Once you have that, consult the following official Defense Dept. link for further instructions:

Good luck.
